Synopsis: Documentary on the 1972 Leeds international Piano Competition, which reached its finale the day before. The programme includes interviews with members of the jury, competitors and past winners, as well as members of the general public. The finalists talk about their choices of music that they will play in the final, and what winning the competition would mean to them and their careers. Highlights of the piano concertos played by the three finalists [Perahia, Indjic and Sheppard] are shown. Perahia wins.
